It’s that time of year again. Yup school time and while homeschooling does have its perks getting ready for the next year is sometimes a challenge. This year and all the years of high school we are focusing on the required classes for the colleges that our son has picked out. By far the one with the most required of applicants is the alma mater of NCIS Agent Timothy McGee or ‘Probbie’. He attended MIT and that is Nate’s dream school. We looked on line for what he needs and by far what they want to see from incoming students is the strictest so we will shoot for that with the thought that he will have all kinds of options when the time comes. If you want to know our book list send me a message and I’ll let you know. Two of the books (algebra and chemistry) came from our trip to Swindon’s Bookstore in Hong Kong. I am also working hard to make his high school transcript and I’m using the wonderful advice of the home scholar, Lee Binz. She has been down this road twice with both of her sons and she is assisting other homeschooling families through the minefield that is homeschooling high school.
I spent today working on the first months of school assignments and putting them into my school computer.
Today hasn’t all been about schooling though. Most of the day has been spent in cleaning our apartment. My desk has been an issue of great concern for me for several weeks now; it had become a dumping ground that spilled its contents all the time when we walked past it. I cleaned it up and also created a neat way to hang my necklaces and earrings. I’ve also gotten rid of lots of my cheap costume jewelry and am working to thin down my belongings. Next mission is to thin out my clothing and shoes!
