Chuck tripped and fell down last night coming from building 4 on the new campus. We walked over to the clinic on the old campus today and he was seen by the doctor who x-rayed his hip and found that although it hurts, he didn’t break anything. He has been given some Chinese herbal medicines to take to relieve the swelling and the pain. This we know because 'Yellow' one of the assistants who has helped us move and was also on the two trips we took (Shaolin Temple & Millennium City) was there today and translated for us. Fortunately I didn't have to teach his class tonight we were hopeful that the herbal medicine would let him get on the bus and teach. I went with him to make sure all is well. When we got to Chuck’s class today his class showed great concern for his wellbeing. As soon as they finished worrying about his cane they promptly turned their attention to me and asked if I was his daughter. After we had a good laugh at that he explained that I am his wife then he asked his class if they had any questions for me. One of his male students asked me where I was from. I told him America and where I had been born. He was embarrassed that he didn’t know that black people are also from America but this is all about learning. I took pictures of the crowd of teachers getting on the bus at the New Campus and also one building I found interesting on our way home.
