Nate and I just couldn't stand being in the house on such a pretty day as today was. The sky was blue, it was sunny but not super hot, just the kind of late summer day where you just lazily get things done preparing for the coming winter. One of the things that we had to get done was to go to IKEA to price mattresses. While we were out we also stopped by the local DENNIS Fresh Mart to get some juice for tomorrow. Then coming back to our block (IKEA & DENNIS are across the street from the university). I got Nate a snack to hold him over until I made dinner tonight. Not sure what this flat bread treat is called. The dough is in a circle like pizzas and it is placed on a grill to bake it. Once both sides have been browned the cart owner cracks an egg, scrambles it and pours it on the griddle placing the bread on top of it. Then again both sides of the bread are grilled. Then your condiments are added and the vendors do check to see if you want them. Nate got the peanut sauce which is spicy and nutty in flavor and pieces of romaine lettuce. The lettuce added a crunchy, cooling texture to the 'wrap' Nate complained that it was hot, but there was little talking as he made the snack disappear.
It is hard to believe that this month is my one year anniversary having this site and blog. I have had a few questions about home schooling and tutoring and hope to answer many more. Please keep following as we travel in China and the surrounding area. This is such a totally awesome chance to share with my readers what it is like to live in another culture. Too many of us never get the chance to explore this world that we all share. As I told my Bus. English class Tuesday, we are all basically the same, we want to eat, have a place to live, have a good job and be safe. We may live on the other side of the world from one another and we talk in a different tounge but we are all human beings and it is my honor to be able to share what we do in our home school and the images of the world we see.
