I had planned on participating in the universities Spring Sport Meeting but a family problem prevented me from doing that. I do hope that I get an opportunity to do this later!
Last night was an interesting event. Wendy one of the Chinese teachers that Chuck knows invited him to partake in a special English Class where he was the guest lecturer and Nate and I accompanied him. I got to meet some very special students and all of us fielded questions after the teaching was over. We rode the city bus to the new campus and that was certainly an experience. We stood the entire way from a few blocks from our house to the campus as the bus was packed like sardines in a can. Once we got on campus we got some ‘meat pies’ from a vendor in the university canteen. The pies were a little spicy but not over the top with the burning and after that we went to one of the bakeries there and got some wonderful cake. I saw several students from last semester’s classes and Chuck saw some of his students from this semester. We enjoyed our selves and the ride home on the last bus of the day from the new campus to the old was a quite one where we were able to have seats and relax.
Today for lunch since we didn’t have the time to get up to the new campus, we ate lunch on the old campus. The dinning hall has a place where you buy your ticket for lunch and then you go around to the individual lunch counters to get what you are looking for be it dumplings in broth, fried noodles, ‘hot pot’, ‘meat pies’ or any of the other dishes that are served. We wondered why we haven’t gone there before now to eat and plan on going back there to eat now that we have discovered this treasure. Others must know of it as well as while we were dining we saw students from the local high school and people who work in the surrounding area at local businesses.
