Saturday in the Park…Chicago sang it right in the 70’s. People were doing all kinds of things today in the park. This morning Chuck and I drove our scooters over to Gongren Street Market where I got more…yes clothes and Chuck got some shoes. Then we walked over to the park that is across the street. School aged children were out all over doing some type of event that we think is associated with May Day coming up. There was a group of women who were learning a dance in the park and we saw a group of senior citizens who were learning English. We also saw vendors of food, drink, and yes, clothing as well. There seemed to be an air of celebration in the park as we walked around enjoying the spring plants and watching the other people also enjoying the spring day. Nate is glad that he didn’t come with us as one of the vendors we saw on the street sold cute skirts and she encouraged me to try pulling the skirt on over my clothing right there on the street and I did just that. Glad that I did too, I was about to walk off and not get my pretty skirt and now it is here with me. I have a picture of my skirts and will post it and my question is: “Of the four skirts I have pictured which ones are from here in China and which are the ones I brought from the states?” Have fun with that one!
Since Chuck and I ate lunch at the market today we checked with Nate to see if he would like us to bring him something to eat. He did so we got him lunch, a sweet potato and fried bread that is very similar to nachos those got eaten with Taco sauce.
