Well it has been a busy weekend here. On Friday I went and
had my new health check done and I’m waiting for my paperwork to get my Z visa, then I’ll be off to Hong
Kong. Saturday was a chill day here, washed my hair, wrote and relaxed. Sunday busy again, Chuck and I ran some errands then went to the English Corner near our house and had lunch with Aimee a grad student at Zengzhou University. My new favorite veggie is lotus roots. They are yummy and versatile about a week ago I tried them sweet and yesterday the ones I tried were savory. Then Sunday evening I had a demo class for 3 children who want to learn English. Well at their ages (two 5 and one 4) it is more that the parents want them to take English.
This morning I assisted in the interview process of applicants to become a new teacher at the Sino-British Schoolon the old campus. There were three applicants that we heard today and it was fun. One for me stood out over the other two; although she seemed nervous she had the seemed to have the best understanding of responding in English. Since this was on the old campus I just walked over from here and walking back it struck me funny that I was amazed by the skirt of my dress brushing on my knees; so many of my dresses these days are mid thigh that this was an unusual feeling.
As a treat Nate and I went out to lunch today and got a ‘snack’ from some of the food vendor’s around the
Dashang market where we had to shop today. Chuck joined us after his visit to the hospital today, all is fine with him, some male issues and kidney stones that are on the big side. After lunch we went shopping and got a few things came home and then decided to go out for a snack…WAFFLES at Dio Coffee. It was yummy, Nate and I got waffles with chocolate sauce and Chuck got one with
strawberries. It was only after getting a call from Qi Yan that I remembered that we were to be getting a bottled water delivery so Nate came home for that. I got telephone calls from Mr. Lui with the school that I helped this morning with interviewing a new teacher. There is a test for teachers to take to win a trip to the UK to study English and Mr. Lui wants me to create and give the test to selected
teachers at the university tomorrow. I found out from Qi Yan that the test is the same one that she wanted me to officiate at. I am very excited about giving the test as it will be a wonderful opportunity for one of teachers.

Last day of class for me but first this morning LT&N played for combined classes of Chuck’s oral English classes. We did two cover songs ‘Landslide’ and‘Scarborough Fair’ and then four original songs ‘His Plan’, ‘The Last Dragon’,‘To the Stars and Past the Moon’, and ‘Touching Their Lives’. After this we went to see if I could house my guitar in Echo’s office and she had no problem with that. We then went to lunch and hung out around the campus. We went to a game room on the campus that has two pool tables and close
to 90 computers for gaming and online fun. We then got large pieces of spice cake and drinks and then it was time to get to my class. Today was our final and everyone read either something that they had written or something from an English publication. After this I played some songs: ‘Landslide’,‘His Plan’, ‘The Last Dragon’ and ‘Touching Their Lives’. Then we caught a taxi home and Chuck went to put money on my phone and Nate’s as well.
