I haven’t been able to post much but here is the update:
Well our water guy went on vacation today; our liaison with the school went on vacation the first of the month. Chinese people all over are going back ancestral homes to celebrate Chinese New Year. Because in today’s society people are busier some will send cards with their good wishes to family and friends. We are looking forward to Chinese New Year and seeing the fireworks or 跑竹 that we have been hearing people practice with lately. In talking with our recruiter I have found out that eating sunflower seeds is something that is done at this time. We hope to see some ‘dancing dragons’ or舞龙(Wǔ long).

I’ve been not feeling well for a couple of days so let me do a recap of the week here. Sunday stay home day tutor out of town. Monday, we went to Vanguard and got some things and looked for a box to mail things in. Today, Tuesday we all got up at 4:30 this morning I had night sweats, no surprise and woke up soaked and very hot as the temp was set waaaay to high in here. Nate also got up because the temp was to hot in here. Chuck got up because he has a hard time sleeping when I’m not in bed. I took 999 a cold medicine made here in China and it usually knocks you right out. It did that and I was able to get back to sleep. However Nate was up and he decided to stay up and play on his computer.

Today was the first Saturday in February and Ground Hog Day there in the US. When we went to the weather channel we saw video’s of Phil and his owner. Phil looked like he was not happy about getting awakened to see his shadow, might want to stay away from upset Ground Hog’s. I decided that I needed to have business cards so I went in search of how to print some and found one that I like and will print them at the print shop in the next day or two. This has been a laid back day, I went to bed last night with a sore throat and when I woke up it hadn’t improved. It’s not worse so that is very good and Chuck went to the pharmacy and got me some 999 that I will take tonight to help me sleep and give my body the rest it needs. Nate and Chuck had there day at the spa and I went in search for the instant cereal and of course more custard pies. I was also very happy to see that the pharmacy that had been in the downstairs of Vanguard Super Market didn’t just vanish but they moved upstairs so I was able to get some throat lozenges that have helped greatly today. It started to rain tonight and the weather forecast is for rain tomorrow. Nate and I have decided that what that means is we will be staying in tomorrow. I don’t know what Chuck will do. He enjoy’s going out and exploring so tomorrow could see him out and about regardless of the rain. With my alone time I worked on my newest story Jade Yang. I’ve been trying to incorporate the lessons I’ve been learning about writing for the past few weeks into that short story, I’m trying also to hold it at under 10 pages. Tomorrow I want to take a look at the pictures that I took this week with thoughts of translating the Chinese Characters to English, I am looking forward to the challenge.
