I hope everyone had a great weekend, we sure did. Friday night we tried to go to the street vendors but because it was Friday or because it was rainy or a combination, not many vendors were out with their food carts on Friday night. We will try that again, but instead what we did was to go to MacDove which is like McDonald's with the red and yellow decorations. There you can get a delightful combination of asian and traditional Mickey D's fair. They had lots of chicken and fish meals. Chuck went shopping with David (across the hall neighbor) and went to street markets and also Vanguards.
Sunday Chuck and I went in search of a comfy bed. We found.....IKEA surprise surprise. We also went to a park near the college. The park is divided by a river running through it and it was in the park that we met a man that was doing some cleansing breaths and urged Chuck to join him. I have a picture of that on my pictures page. Nate stayed in the apartment having along time with his computer.. I found black nail polish WOOHOO! In Vanguard's we were followed by a pre-teen girl, her little sister and little brother. Everytime we turned around they were there to say hello. They followed us up two floors then went their own way when we went to the 3rd floor for food. Shopping for us is less about getting what we go for and more about seeing what everything is. Since we don't read Chinese yet, we have to use our eyes to tell us what each store sells.
Today I got some athletic shoes. After the shoes we just walked around until we found a bakery and tried to sweets as snacks. They were yummy, but really is there anything at a bakery that I will not eat? Nope don't think so.
Well it's back to the walking tour after Nate does his book work for the day. Today he has math, science, and language arts. Later tonight I'll have him journal and possibly blog as well.
