I taught a class this morning and many of the students could speak English. The goal for this semester will be to get them speaking better. I took pictures of this class! I let this class out early so they could get to lunch first and also so Nate and I could go to the coffee house and get yes, chocolate milkshakes! After making several attempts the coffee house was able to get us our much sought after chocolate milkshakes.
I took a nap when we got back from lunch and Nate and I attended a practice for a musical event we will be in on Friday. I was surprised as soon after we were finished Chuck sent me pictures of the event via the chat app we have on our phones, but he wasn’t there. A former student of his took the picture and sent it to him. Several of his former students were in the audience as we played tonight.
After that we got dinner and on my way home I found a man selling Chinese wooden flutes. A friend in the states asked me to get him a flute last year and until tonight I had not seen any. I’ve seen some plastic toy flutes but I was certain that wasn’t what my friend wanted.
Well I am done teaching for the week. I have three classes that started this week and I have six classes that start in four weeks.

Yesterday was my first classes. The first one went very well but I had fewer students than I had anticipated and only a handful of them spoke English to the level that I could understand them. My student Ted from my first year here was also in the class. My second class was bigger but my stomach was very unhappy (okay, I ‘blew chunks’ and had the ‘runs’) so I had the class shortened I promised that they would not have a short class like that every week. Today my one class was canceled along with my early morning class tomorrow so today was a relaxed day allowing my stomach ample time to feel better. This morning Nate and I went grocery shopping at Dennis Mart downstairs.
