We got a water delivery this morning. We ran out but we were able to get a delivery in a few hours. That was great! Love this kind of customer service. We then walked around Zhengzhou City. We’ve been looking for a print place close to us, but have been unable to find another one beside the one next to the old campus near our first temporary apartment. It really isn’t that far away and the fact that we can have our papers printed for a fraction of the cost of having our own printer makes the entire activity much better. If you want something on your computer printed out you just need to put it on a flash drive and take it to a print shop. They plug your flash drive to their computer and from there print what you have. Easy, piece of cake, we did that and made copies of some of Chuck’s school papers that I needed to get copied for me. After that we wandered around in search of lunch and we found what we were looking for at the large market on Gongren Lu; the place just up the street from the bike sales shops. I got a huge amount of noodles that I shared with Chuck, Nate got a “pita” with a meat filling. Nate and I needed drinks and we got all of that for less than $12 USD. Then we went into the market.
We got our desired date stamp and a stamp pad, a protractor set for Nate,
& some other various office/school supplies that Chuck and I needed. We also saw yoga mats, but decided not to get them as we are all getting used to sleeping on the harder beds. After doing that we found the Chinese
who could speak English and they helped us by reading what our cell phones were saying. We had gotten messages from China Mobile that our phones only had a few dollars left on them. We got ourselves to China Mobile and put more money on our phones and then went looking for the hair salon that Nate got his hair cut in. Today was Chuck’s turn to get his hair cut. We did that and then we looked for food carts to get dinner from and then return home. Now I really should be working on my syllabus for my class, but I, being a card carrying member of the procrastinator’s club will put that off again today. We are relaxing watching a Jackie Chan movie, of course in Chinese with Chinese subtitles. I figure that
since we learn so much by hearing that we should immerse ourselves in TV shows when we get the time so we can hear more of what we are trying to say. LOL TV shows are funny over here, if a show hasn't gotten finished and the time is up for it, then the stations go to the show that is supposed to be happening. Jackie was in the middle of a chase and then it was the news.
I just looked at my shirt that I have been wearing today.
It has peanut sauce splatters which might explain the odd looks I’ve been
getting while out today. Can’t she eat without a bib yet? Obviously
not. Well till next time, Zài jiàn!
