We tried a new treat for breakfast today called Elegant Waffles. They are smaller than the waffles we have in the states and are flavored.
We tried Vanilla and Chocolate flavored ones today. With no toaster we warmed them in the microwave. I at them plain, Chuck put honey on his and Nate tried both ways. He tried them in the store yesterday as they had a sample of them. Chinese eat them straight out of the box. I’m good with warming them in the microwave but Chuck and Nate want to have the crunch that accompanies waffles in the US.
As always I did laundry and hung it to dry. Then Chuck and I got on the bus to take students and teachers to the new campus from the old one.
The new campus is west of town in the same direction as the Shaolin
Temple. We were able to see lots of exciting new roads and places, Wal-Mart being the biggest of our new finds. Well Wal-Mart isn’t new;
we’ve seen it and known that it was here, now we know how we can get to it! It was really funny, as we stood outside our apartment waiting for the bus Chuck got a text asking him to get in contact with an assistant who had his teaching schedule all ready for him. Lucky him, he gets books to work out of for his classes. I know that it is likely that my 2 classes may go up, but I sure hope not that much. We walked all over the campus and saw many new sites, the student’s cafeteria, student center, and the student business center. In the area outside the cafeteria there were tents set up, a kind of fair for the student’s to see what clubs and sales deals are available to them. One club, The Barbeque Club, had the American’s take pictures with them. We even tried some of the vending machines outside some of the teaching buildings.
When we got home, Chuck and Nate went to the print store and got things printed out for classes tomorrow. Now we are just chillin’ at home. Maybe we’ll watch TV tonight.
While Chuck and I were at the new campus, Nate decided that he would rather stay in the apartment and get his school work done. As always he did a great job with his work. I am very proud of my son. He works really hard at making sure he does understand his lessons and when he does have a question he asks. Truly, I couldn’t ask for a better son!
Talk to you later...
