Thursday the 22nd, Thanksgiving Day, Chuck and I started our new Thanksgiving tradition by going to the spa. I opted for a bath this time and bath salts and rose petals were added to my bath water. I could have soaked for hours it was glorious! After my loofah and oil massage the ladies at the spa started taking pictures of me, the American so I asked that some be taken with my camera as well. We also went to bed early as we had to be up early on Friday not for Black Friday sales but so that we could meet, Qi Yan, and get our body scans.
Friday the 23rd We went and in just over an hour got all the tests done. In the US this process would have run us 3-4 hours per person and we had all three of us going through. We saw a parrot in a tree on the old campus when we got finished with the body scans. Jack one of Chuck’s students came over last night and spent time with Nate talking Chinese and looking at his school books.
Today the 24th, we are all going to get our hair done, Nate to get a haircut, Chuck to get color and haircut and me just color. Just another day in China for us tomorrow is our wedding anniversary and we are going out for lunch, Nate, will get more alone time here in the apartment. He started to have alone time in the states and has really embraced it here. Before his alone time was going outside to play but here he prefers to spend his free time on the computer and have Chuck and I go out and explore. Both Qi Yan and David have been giving suggestions on where to find tutors for both Nate and I (Chuck is not interested right now). I really want our study of Chinese to begin soon. I’m feeling that I've gone near as far as I can on my own and really need to hear a native speaker to nail down how to say things. Google Translate can only do so much…LOL
